| Address | 42 Fore Street , , Hayle | | Comments | Whilst having a night our from my own pub (rare!)wanted the evening to be relaxed and just nice. As reccomended it was everything i hoped for, Coming from the catering trade myself, knowing pleasing everyone is difficult, all 7 people in our party were satisfied, even our veggie and very fussy member!! Food was great starters huge and scrummy especially peanut parcels and honey ribs. fantastic!! A must for eating out in cornwall! | |   | Posted by Anouska House on 2008-09-04 00:51:37 |
| Address | Higher Market Street , , East Looe | | Comments | Being a Morrell my husband and I just had to dine at the Bistro whilst holidaying in Looe last week. I am do like my food and being a vegitarian I am often disapointed with the vegitarian offerings in many restaurants. However Morrells Bistro did not disapoint my taste buds, although they only had one choice of mian meal suitable for vegitarians. I had a fantastic meal as did my husband and children- who were also very delighted by the sticky toffee pudding and left my husband and I wishing we had requested one too! The soup starter was fab, tomato and basil with croutons and the portions were very good. If you get the opportunity to dine at this Bistro you will not be disapointed. | |   | Posted by Lorraine Morrell on 2008-09-03 20:53:21 |
| Address | Carvynick , Summercourt , Newquay | | Comments | Another fabulous meal at Viners. We have been here several times and every meal has been faultless. Great service, lovely surroundings in a period building with contemporary decor, and excellent service. I had chicken breast stuffed with brie, my partner went for Veal, both dishes were excellent. Lovely touch with the complimentary apple and basil sorbet and petit fours. I've eaten in most of cornwall's best restaurants and in my opinion this is the finest. | |   | Posted by Kathy Wilshere on 2008-09-03 16:10:42 |

| Address | , , Polzeath | | Comments | my husband, myself & our two children ( age 9, 11) went to this pub/bar in feb 08, just by chance in passing, while staying in port isaac. we eat out quite a lot, & we had not been impressed by some restaurants that had been recommended since our arrival. but htis was something else, what fantastic food! both our children are very fussy eaters. the food was varied, fresh, homecooked to order, original, & tasted absolutely delicious! we returned again a few days later with friends. once again we were not disappointed. we all tried different dishes from the menu, all of which were equally fantastic. service was warm & friendly, surroundings very pleasant, price very reasonable. we are returning to cornwall this december & this place is number1 on our list. excellent! | |   | Posted by jane o'flaherty on 2008-09-03 13:02:06 |

| Address | Comford , Gwennap , Redruth | | Comments | Had a lovely meal here on Monday 1st September. Excellent Garlic Bread and the Fish Pie is amazing. Plus you get to chose from Chips and New Potatoes or Salad and Vegetables instead of just getting whatever the chef decides. Will defiantely return. On Mondays there is the added bonus of a fun pub quiz! | |   | Posted by Emma McCreadie on 2008-09-02 07:44:36 |
| Address | Wharf Road , , St.Ives | | Comments | We've been down in Cornwall on holiday for just over a weeek and have eaten at Onshore 3 times now. Each visit has been a delight not only because of the amazing views over the harbour, but the service and the food are utterly exceptional. Daily specials are a real treat, it's 1 of the reasons we keep coming back.
Brilliant place, keep up the hard work! | |   | Posted by Steve Bold on 2008-09-01 11:15:51 |
| Address | 15 New Bridge Street , , Truro | | Comments | My meal at Chantek was brilliant! The service, food and atmosphere was amazing. I ordered Teriaki beef and I have to say one of THE best meals I have ever had. Totally recommend it to anyone! | |   | Posted by Matthew Eden on 2008-09-01 09:27:12 |
| Address | Holywell Road , Cubert , Newquay | | Comments | We visited The Anvil because we read in our local paper about the re-opening, and more mportantly, the link with a pub which we have eaten at, and enjoyed on many occasions. We were not disappointed. An excellent meal, good surroundings, a full restaurant and everyone eating great food. Happy staff and customers. We are definitely going back. | |   | Posted by Chris Parker on 2008-08-31 20:18:08 |
| Address | 16-18 High Street , , Padstow | | Comments | Ten of us booked a meal last Friday evening 29th August, after getting lost we eventually found the restaurant. What a find, the staff were charming & helpful, the food wonderful and the atmosphere relaxing. I should imagine if Ricks restaurant is full The Estuary would not leave you disappointed.
A very enjoyable evening & one we hope to repeat again. | |   | Posted by Rose on 2008-08-31 18:46:50 |

| Address | @ Bishop Phillpot's , Castle Street , Truro | | Comments | What a discovery! This is a great place to relax, meet friends and drink ice cold glasses of gorgeous wine. The food was delicious, expertly served by friendly and knowledgable staff. The menu was extensive and I loved the fact that everything was locally sourced, fresh, excellent quality and just great, simple, fabulous Cornish seafood.

| Address | 2 Bank Place , , Falmouth | | Comments | The 3 Amigos in Falmouth is a great find. The restaurant surroundings are lovely and the atmosphere is friendly. The food however is fantastic. Its is well-cooked and full of flavour. My husband and I had the steaks which were cooked to perfection. the cajun chips were very moreish, but what I enjoyed most was the homemade Brownie topped with ice cream. A must for chocoholics. It was heavenly! I am looking forward to going back again. Highly recomnended. | |   | Posted by Mrs Lorna A Curnow on 2008-08-30 08:32:40 |
| Address | Penwartha Road , Bolingey , Perranporth | | Comments | Had the most delightful evening at the Bolingey. The staff have created a truly relaxed and friendly atmosphere here and the food was excellent, even though we had to wait 40 mins (however we were informed of this right at the start so we had an extra glass of wine and plate of bread and olives and suddenly it wasn't a wait but an extension of the evening). My rabbit casserole was packed with juicy meat and full of flavour, my friend's fish cooked to perfection and as for the rasberry pavlova for dessert! Fantastic all round. The food critics are always waxing lyrical about locally sourced, simply cooked food without pretention and this is exactly what you get at the Bolingey. Well done to all the staff and chefs for making a pub meal truly memorable. I can't remember having a more pleasant experience when eating out. | |   | Posted by TW on 2008-08-29 15:46:27 |
| Address | @ Bishop Phillpot's , Castle Street , Truro | | Comments | After seeing the advert in cornwall today i took my family here for lunch. The staff are very welcoming right from the start. My sister came with us with her two year old baby, she found the staff very helpful. We were lucky enough to sit out side, the grass was great for the baby to play and for us we found nothing better than eating the most amazing oysters and sipping champagne in the sun. The menu is perfect; not full of complicated food and the cafes specials seem to change frequently as I have visited the cafe a lot over the past month. The food and staff have been flawless every time. We came back to the cafe on a cold rainy day and sat inside, the cafe was very homely and warm and it seems the menu has a meal for every occasion. The weather was so terrible I felt need for the seafood stew which was delicious and overall the food seems to be at a very high quality and reasonable price. I would highly recommend this venue to my friends and family. | |   | Posted by Jack Johnson on 2008-08-28 19:34:14 |
| Address | @ Bishop Phillpot's , Castle Street , Truro | | Comments | We have been to the Falmouth Bay Seafood Cafe twice for lunch. The food, wine and service has been excellent each time. Best scallops ever! Would thoroughly recommend it. We will definitely return. | |   | Posted by Ian Jakeways on 2008-08-28 18:43:47 |
| Address | Holywell Road , Cubert , Newquay | | Comments | We rocked up to Odds on a wet Friday night in August 2008, having received a recommendation about the restaurant whilst in the Builder's Merchants. I kid you not! Odds was such a surprise. A sign outside says, we're bigger than we look and so they are. We sat and enjoyed a chilled glass of wine in the quirky but comfortable bar area. The choice of wine by the glass was extensive and the decision was helped along by the knowledgable barman. The menu was so suprising, we chose Rabbit wrapped in Parma Ham on a bed of locally grown, organic salad dressed in a balsamic dressing. My yummy, generous main course was a light beef casserole with a potato & horseradish puree. Rounded off with a heavenly chocolate fondant pudding with summer fruit ice cream. The staff were attentive but not suffocating. All this restaurant lacks is more diners! It was only about a third full, the benefit of which was swift and attentive service.
Please go and try it. You may even enjoy yourself! | |   | Posted by Delia Mills on 2008-08-28 16:29:11 |
| Address | Alexandra Road , Porth Beach , Newquay | | Comments | Me and my partner had a couple of meals there and I have to say the food was amazing. I can safely say that my partner thinks so too. We can't wait to go back. | |   | Posted by Dawn Drake on 2008-08-28 14:28:34 |
| Address | 5-7 The Crescent , , Newquay | | Comments | On a recent visit to Newquay we came across this lovely restaurant, there was such a warm welcome, thought it was a small place at first then once we were inside wow!! gran had the monkfish both myself and the wife had the shark nicoise. The food was very well presented and served up by lovely friendly staff who couldnt do enough for us.From the olives and humous with the warm bread whilst we waited to the homemade chocolates at the end of the meal, will definately be returning for another visit. | |   | Posted by Ross Middleton on 2008-08-27 17:19:35 |
| Address | at The Driftwood Spars Hotel , Trevaunance Cove , St Agnes | | Comments | My wife and I had lunch on the 26th of August and enjoyed our meal of mussels and sardines. The service was friendly and helpful. We will recommened. | |   | Posted by Mike on 2008-08-26 17:56:32 |
| Address | 13 Church Street , , Launceston | | Comments | I love harveys the food is exactly what you want, steak and chips with enough of a posh twist to make it feel like you have gone out for a sophisticated meal, not just pub grub. The food is gorgeous and relatively inexpensive. The menu is diverse although not huge it offers quite a bit. Justin and Lisa are lovey and even test their own chefs ( whilst we were there they sat and had a meal without telling the kitchen it was for themselves!!) portions are generous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot understand why it is not heaving all the time it truly is a diamond of a place. Try it again if you have not been for a while you will truly enjoy it...... | |   | Posted by laura Clements on 2008-08-26 15:35:16 |

| Address | Tabernacle Street , , Truro | | Comments | We found everything we want from a restaurant when we stepped inside Indaba. A friendly welcome, comfortable seating, exceptional service and delicious food. Inspirational, mouth watering dishes created by Nick Taylor. Definitely a restaurant to return to again and again. | |   | Posted by M Fordham on 2008-08-25 16:19:31 |
| Address | Stithians Lake , , Nr Redruth | | Comments | This is one of our favourite, and regular, restaurants. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the service efficient, and the prices very reasonable for Cornwall! The food is always reliably good - particular favourites are the Thai fishcakes (now thankfully reverted to the original recipe!!) the fish, and the gammon. Vegetables are neither over nor undercooked - just right - and attention to detail - eg crisp fresh salads. If you haven't yet been, do try it! | |   | Posted by Carol Heginbotham on 2008-08-23 16:56:10 |

| Address | Falmouth Yacht Marina , , Falmouth | | Comments | The stunning views and wonderful staff are the icing on the cake for my favourite Cornish eatery 'The Marine Bar & Restaurant' Falmouth.
A mouth watering menu with a fabulous array of daily specials coupled with a bar crammed full of delicious beverages makes this restaurant a delight.
The consistancy of the excellent standard of food draws my partner and I back time and again for Moules Mariniere, Peppered Calimari and Farm Fresh Steak. I have to say that I am a huge fan of Mussels in any kind of sauce and i have tried many restaurants but these guys at the Marine Bar have nailed it.
The menu is super for grabbing a yummy sandwich or indulging in four courses! A selection of tapas with specials is a light way to enjoy an evening but no doubt you will be tempted to try something from the farm or sea menu.
The farm menu offers anything from corn fed chicken to lamb shank, grilled rib eye steak to sausages and mash. The dishes change and are always something a little different and totally tasty!
The sea menu is the same idea offering a superb choice of fresh fish and sea food all at great prices. Just dont forget to try the mussels!
Another great atribute for this restaurant is the fact that it caters for everybody and any situation. The seating area is huge so a party can be going on in one alcove and a romantic dinner for two in another. The views as mentioned are lovely with an added bonus of an outdoor decking area directly above the marina. Perfect for a bottle of San Antonio and a bowl of marinated olives whilst watching the boats bobbing on the water.
Plenty of parking available and a feeling of 'getting away from it all' really does await you at this gem of a restaurant.
Enjoy! | |   | Posted by Lauren White on 2008-08-21 17:57:10 |
| Address | 21 Church St , , , Falmouth | | Comments | Had lunch here with my dad on a very wet wednesday after reading several good reviews.A thoroughly enjoyable meal, with attentive yet not pushy service. Had the special set luch menu, which offered nice choices. Lovely food, and beautiful dining room! Regrettably we were the only ones there, which was fine for us, but not much atmosphere. Would definately eat here again, would like to visit in the evening too. Really lovely, Worth a visit! | |   | Posted by Lauren on 2008-08-21 13:42:42 |
| Address | 4 Beach Road , Perranporth , | | Comments | This restaurant is heading for the stars (Michelin and others) We arrived in Perranporth not knowing of any good restaurants,we dined out on Saturday and Sunday night and were not very impressed. Then on the Monday evening we found Tin Fin, Wow! is this a good restaurant or what? The food was first class, we started with marinated monkfish, feta stuffed peppers and olives, then for our main course I had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection and my wife had crab cakes (these are no ordinary crab cakes).
We where both very pleased with the standard of service so much that we returned on the Tuesday and it just got better. Sadly to say we return home on Saturday but we will be going back before we go. Next time we come to Perranporth I am sure that we will have to book weeks in advance if we want a table at this first class restaurant.

| Address | Gwinear Road , Conner Downs , Hayle | | Comments | We held our daughters christening buffet at Rosewarne Manor on 17th August and had a wonderful afternoon. My initial meeting with Cyril was very good and with his help and advice we agreed on the menu which met our requirements. And we were delighted - all the food is produced on the premises using locally sourced ingredients. Everything was delicious - Tuscan vegetable pizza, Hot baked mushroom with blue cheese, chorizo and sunblushed tomato , creamy jacket potatoes stuffed with cheese & onion, a selection of cold meats. The children loved their own buffet table and eagerly ate the homemade sausage rolls and fish goujons. The food was nicely presented and served by Cyril who informed people what was in each dish as some guests had specific dietary requirements.
Rosewarne Manor has been totally refurbished and the room we used was fresh and bright, overlooking the gardens where the children played on the lawn.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing afternoon and would recommend Rosewarne Manor for a function. We will be going back to try out their restaurant soon.

| Address | 5-7 The Crescent , , Newquay | | Comments | My boyfriend and I discovered the Pistachio Brasserie through the Here and Now Magazine during our recent stay in Newquay and we are so pleased we found it! The dining room was beautifully decorated and had fantastic views over Newquay Bay. The service was exceptional and the attention to detail was great; the glass of water with a sprig of mint and a slice of lime and the bread served with humuos, oil and olives which were free of charge. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. We spoke to the owner after our meal and it was fantastic to hear someone who is so passionate about creating wonderful dishes using locally produced food in a relaxing environment.
Our experience of the Pistachio Brasserie was so wonderful we went there again on our final night! We would recommend anyone staying in Newquay to visit this restaurant! | |   | Posted by Claire Watkin on 2008-08-15 20:03:27 |

| Address | 85 Kenwynn Street , , Truro | | Comments | Nigel tabb is on top form at his stylish Truro restaurant. Our recent evening experience started with outstanding starters of scallops, and seared duck fillets surmounted by a perfect a soft boiled duck egg. Mains of pork loin and superb venison followed, with my wife proclaiming the venison to be the best she had ever tasted. Those who know Nigel's expertise with desserts know that we were not disappointed with either the chocolate marquise with its cream cheese icecream, or the parfait with rubarb icecream. | |   | Posted by Brian Terry on 2008-08-15 18:17:42 |

| Address | Mawgan , , Helston | | Comments | My partner and I found this charming peaceful and relaxing pub/restaurant by chance. We and our 18 month old twins were welcomed without hesitation and even offered toys and colouring pens to play with. The food was delicious for adults AND kids alike and so refreshing not to have to choose the predictable fishfingers/nuggets for the kids. They had fresh baked home made pizza which was perfect. The service was not only friendly but went above and beyond the call of duty offering us directions to the obscure place we were looking for. We were so lucky to have stumbled upon this charming place. We give it 10 out of 10! | |   | Posted by Marianne Kavanagh on 2008-08-14 23:27:02 |
| Address | The Old Boathouse , South Quay Hill , Newquay | | Comments | the food does justice to an excellent setting!! Of course set in Newquay's harbour the stock menu item is from the sea, caught by the fishermen in the boats that you sit and gaze at whilst you enjoy a glass from the terrific wine list. The chef must have sackloads of compliments and the staff are relaxed but attentive. If fruits of the sea isn't your taste not to worry theier is plenty of choice,(Steak oh! I'm hungry again now!!)and the pricing is what yuo would expect in a restaurant with excellent wines, choice of food, staff, and of course the setting!! A must eat place for locals and holidayers, and the Lobster pools make choosing your meal even easier. 'I'll have that one'!! | |   | Posted by ty james on 2008-08-14 15:50:33 |

| Address | Mount Pleasant Road , Porthleven , Helston | | Comments | The fish was fantastic as you'd expect from a restaurant cum cafe situated right on the harbour in Porthleven. It's ideally placed for the local fishermen to deliver their daily catch straight to the kitchen. I started with the best fishcake I've ever had and then went on to enjoy halibut on a bed of crab risotto - fantastic. The staff are very friendly and the wine reasonably priced. All these factors contributed to a special dinner which we repeated later on in our weeks stay in Porthleven. | |   | Posted by Janey Wood on 2008-08-13 11:32:56 |

| Address | Mithian , , St Agnes | | Comments | Excellent!!!
What can you say about food other than this pub serves the best. They have a fantastic range of drinks available, and the service was great. Three of us went and ordered our starter and main. The dishes arrived and were simply fantastic, their chicken wrapped in bacon with stilton, and apple mash with pork just wow. Time came to think about desert, we were absolutely stuffed but so impressed with the quality of the food that we still had to have dessert. Just before the dessert arrived I made a comment about hoping it was small, but I was disappointed. A huge serving of cheesecake arrived, and the other desserts arrived were huge too. Again the taste, flavours, textures and quality of the food blew us away. I've never felt the need to send compliments and thanks to the chef, but this was different.
Next time I'm in cornwall definately going to go back here. | |   | Posted by Chris Brown on 2008-08-10 20:35:08 |
| Address | 62 Daniel Place , , Penzance | | Comments | We always try to visit Captain's Restaurant at least once when in Cornwall. We had a meal there in July 2008 and, as usual, the food was excellent. There is always a friendly reception and you will not taste better Fish & Chips. Try a bottle of 'Betty Stoggs' which goes perfectly with the meal! A top class establishment well worth seeking out. | |   | Posted by Simon Shelley on 2008-08-10 17:33:53 |
| Address | Shop Road , St.Merryn , Padstow | | Comments | After being ripped off at the other well-known local restaurants in the area (yes- I did write a letter of complaint!)- this was a refreshing change. The local owners provided good food, good service and good value for money! | |   | Posted by lesley pattenden on 2008-08-10 14:03:49 |
| Address | Tristram Cliff , , Polzeath | | Comments | Ate in this fantastically located restaurant on a visit to Polzeath last tuesday.
Fantastic place, service and price, considering how local and beautifully prepared the food was.
Had pan seared scallops, girolles and broad beans, fantastic seasoning, cokking, textures and flavours. The main of whole roasted local wild seabass, orange, fennel & wild cress salad flaked off the bone, fantastic combination again.
My Girlfriend had crispy duck starter and local Haddock fillet, hand cut chips, pea puree and tartar sauce. She says it is the best fish and chips she has ever had, including any restaurants she has had it in!
Coming fromthe city this is better than most of the fair available, if you want quality, atmosphere and service look no further!
Fantastic place and staff, will def see you again next time we are in the area!!
Thanks! | |   | Posted by Matthew Burns on 2008-08-09 11:28:24 |
| Address | Widemouth Bay , , Bude | | Comments | We have stayed a few times, most recently in May 2008. As always we had a really friendly welcome and we really like the recent improvements with the new bathrooms and new room layouts. The food was delicious, and impossible to fault, as always. We had a very relaxing stay, in peaceful surroundings. It is also very near a sandy surfing beach (which was great for our 2 boys.)

| Address | Widemouth Bay , , Bude | | Comments | I don't usually write these review things, but this hotel compelled me to. We stayed in May 2008. The room rates suggest that this is a run-of-the-mill bed and breakfast. But it turned out to be one of the best hotels (in terms of food and service) we have stayed in. The food, service and hospitality were very high quality - the sort you find in top 5 star hotels around the world. At the moment, it seems to be an unknown gem and it is easy to book rooms and tables. But I think it is only a question of time before people hear about it and it will become impossible to book. Go now before the "foodie" crowds find out about it.

| Address | Widemouth Bay , , Bude | | Comments | Nov 2006. My wife and I visited on our wedding anniversary. The food was of excellent quality, the restaurant ambience extremely pleasant, and the service delightfully friendly and helpful. My wife declared that it was the best meal she had had for years (and ever, in this region) and we recommend this hotel as the best place to go for a meal in this region.

| Address | Widemouth Bay , , Bude | | Comments | Thank you very much for an excellent weekend at the end of May.
As ever, we received a very warm welcome from the team at Brocksmoor, who looked after us very well. I was impressed by the work you've carried out, particularly on the family rooms, and we were certainly very comfortable.
The food we had during the weekend was all very, very good, from the light(ish) lunch on Saturday, which was well received after our long journey, the delicious dinner on Saturday night (the menu for which provided the biggest decision making challenge of the weekend), the great full English breakfast and the splendid Sunday roast. Suffice to say that I did not need feeding on Sunday evening or indeed much of Monday!
I remembered the well kept Betty Stoggs bitter from our last stay and this hit the spot on more than one occasion during the weekend.
The surfing (well actually paddling in my case) and beach cricket down the road at Widemouth Bay served to sharpen my appetite and enabled me to make full use of the hotel's catering facilities.
Anyway, thanks again and we're looking forward to our next visit.

| Address | Summerleaze Beach , , Bude | | Comments | We visited Life's a Beach last Wednesday for a family birthday meal. It had been recommended to me by the owner of the house we were all staying in just down the road. We had popped in during the day on the Monday, when it was just a beachside cafe. The transformation into a restaurant on the Wednesday night was incredible. The food, service and general ambience was excellent, and I cannot recommend Life's a Beach highly enough. | |   | Posted by Pat Furr on 2008-08-06 20:26:37 |

| Address | Alexandra Road , Porth Beach , Newquay | | Comments | Not the most stylish restaurant, but there is something quite unpretentious about this little place with its purple ceiling! Food was nice, service friendly...Yes, I can recommend going there, but don't expect it to be slap bang in the middle of Newquay, cos it aint (£6 each way in a taxi) Still, if you don't want to sit in the middle of hen/stag parties, this is the place to go. | |   | Posted by Jo Hunter on 2008-08-03 21:11:57 |

| Address | 39 Fore Street , , Newquay | | Comments | having visited the dolphin on numerous occassions my last visit was a little dissapointing. One of the joys is being able to relax in the lounge drink in hand, purusing the menu. However I visited last week around 18:00 as we had not made a reservation I was told that my family could not enter the lounge but would to be seated and have order from the table, the reson given was it was Friday night, well early evening.I had then expected a stady flow of customers however I went to the bar some 30 minutes later to see the lounge empty perhaps no one had booked in advance! good meal but I suggest you book, that said on the 20 odd occassions I have ate in the resturant not once have we booked but always enjoyed the lounge. | |   | Posted by a kettle on 2008-07-30 18:42:26 |
| Address | Carn Lane , , Redruth | | Comments | Wow, we had the most fantastic night out. The food superb, the venue magnificent and unique and the host family very welcoming and entertaining. Pricing very affordable for such a nice experience. It would be a lovely venue for a wedding reception or a private party, just need to get someone to ask me to marry them!! I am certainly going to be eating out there as much as possible. It is not very often my partner can go out for a meal and really enjoy it as usually he has to complain about something. It is now his favorite restaurant. Due to being so good you do have to book in advance especially for weekends its worth booking a couple of weeks ahead if possible. 10/10 yum! | |   | Posted by Jane Chrispin on 2008-07-30 13:06:23 |

| Address | 34 Molesworth Street , Wadebridge , | | Comments | Fabtasic food served by great staff. Well worth a trip as inside defies its cafe look facade. A cafe by day but at night simply delicious food at a very good price cooked to perfection by the very amiable chef who frequently pops in with the dinners to talk food.

| Address | The Castle , The Wharf , Bude | | Comments | A simply beautiful setting. Elegant room overlooking Summerleaze Beach and the famous Bude Canal. We watched the sun set over the surf while eating in this restaurant, with the chefs calmly and methodically working in the open kitchen behind us. My white bean and porcini mushroom soup was delicious, rich with porcini flavour and velvety smooth. My other starter in place of a main course were the most perfect scallops I have eaten in any restaurant. Still with the seasalt tang, tender as butter. My partner's generous helping of battered courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta was perfect, the batter golden and crisp. Courgettes grow in the restaurant kitchen garden, as near a garden to the sea I have seen. It is worth taking the children to this restaurant to see the amazingly colourful scarecrow to ward off the seagulls. My partner's pork cutlet on the most delicate, potatoey dauphinoisse was exceptional. No need for these Cornish potatoes to be swimming in tons of cream and butter. The roasted asparagus would have worked equally well, I thought, steamed. Following the chef's rosemary bread, and cheese topped Italian bread with the soup, we opted to share the most fragrant, vanilla-ey, custardy comforting creme brulee. A desert usually leaving me disappointed, this was to die for. Always a risk, the decaffinated cappuchino did not disappoint, the beans coming through without the usual decaff aftertaste. We reluctantly left the Castle restaurant with its late evening sea mist view, made more beautiful after sharing a bottle of Merlot, reasonably priced at £12.00, helped down with the restaurant's filtered aqua. Having visited Bude many times over the years, finally it has a restaurant which deserves the stunning seascape backdrop it overlooks. The staff were warm, friendly and efficient, discreet and courteous. It was a busy night but we did not have to wait any time between courses but were able to relax and enjoy the ambience in this restaurant which brings the outside sea air in! | |   | Posted by Nicola Hyman on 2008-07-25 20:14:14 |
| Address | Holywell Road , Cubert , Newquay | | Comments | We visited The Anvil earlier this week and it was amazing. New people have taken over and they have done wonders with the place, gone are all the dark stone walls and blacksmiths paraphernalia and in with white walls, soft cushions and curtains and fresh flowers. They have created a separate bar area to enjoy a drink way from the diners which is lovely.the food was excellent, my wife had crab thermidor which was very good indeed and I had local loin of Cornish Lamb which was absolutely delicious. The kids menu has no rubbish on it either and we had a tremndous bottle of wine with dinner and all for under £20 per head inc starters. If you went to the "old Anvil" youo really must go and now, the change is amazing. I wish them all the luck in the world. We will be going back for more.. | |   | Posted by David Ellery on 2008-07-25 10:25:05 |
| Address | Narrowcliff Road , , Newquay | | Comments | Went here last year and had a great time. Kids 7-9 played downstairs, supervised, while mum and dad waited for the food to arrive. When it did they sent the kids upstairs for food. Food excellently cooked and kids loved the make your own pizza's too. Anyone with kids needs to see this place to understand how easy restaurant eating out with kids can be. | |   | Posted by Gary Williams on 2008-07-24 16:39:23 |

| Address | Higher Market Street , , East Looe | | Comments | We ate at Morrells on the Sunday evening and could not find fault with their lamb roast - we particularly liked having the opportunity to choose a regular or smaller portion. Each course was superb and we immediately booked to eat there again in three days time and were not disappointed. We went early evening and ate from their Special Menu - excellent value for a three course meal. We would recommend this bistro to anyone. | |   | Posted by Gillian Anderson on 2008-07-22 22:38:32 |

| Address | St- Andrews Street , , St Ives | | Comments | We first came across the gem of a restaurant 3 years ago and at the time it was fantastic. On our most recent return trip it was with a certain amount of apprehension that we booked again. Was the food going to be as good? was the service going to be just as friendly? We found that there was nothing at all to worry about. to start we had the fresh scallops and the grilled trout (special) which were amazing, then we had the line caught cod and the lobster special with tiger prawns and scallops - there are no words to express how good this all was. To finish we had the cheese board (with port, as must) and the chocolate pot (with the Elysium Black Muscat Dessert Wine) which were amazing.
Overall this was quite possibly the best meal we've ever had and was even better than our first visit all those years ago. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. | |   | Posted by Steve Dee on 2008-07-21 10:40:51 |

We had a meal in Beaucliffes Restaurant on Saturday 9 August and found the food to be excellent. The staff were attentive without being over familiar and the cost of the meal was reasonable.
